Our Story
The roots of Big Tings Burgers Ltd stretch back more than 25 years, to the bustling markets and vibrant kitchens of the Caribbean. Our founding team began their culinary journey on the islands, where fresh ingredients, fiery spices, and bold flavours shaped their approach to cooking. From the smoky aroma of jerk chicken sizzling over open coals to the sweet, caramelised flavours of plantain, every element of Caribbean food culture became a source of inspiration. It was here that our chefs mastered the techniques of seasoning, marinating, and grilling, developing a deep respect for the traditions that make Caribbean food so unique.

In the early 2000s, our team brought these skills to the United Kingdom, seeking to share the unforgettable taste of the Caribbean with a wider audience. For years, they honed their craft in professional kitchens across London—working in street food markets, pop-up events, and top restaurants. They developed a reputation for creating dishes that are as vibrant and soulful as the islands themselves. Through this experience, they combined their traditional Caribbean roots with London’s modern culinary scene, experimenting with new ideas while staying true to the authentic flavours they grew up with.

Big Tings Burgers was born from a shared vision: to create a place where bold Caribbean flavours meet the fun and casual appeal of burgers and chicken. Every recipe on the menu is built on a foundation of the team’s decades of experience, with a focus on quality ingredients and handcrafted preparation. Our signature jerk chicken burger, for example, is marinated for over 24 hours in a blend of spices before being grilled to perfection, while our plantain-topped beef burgers add a touch of sweetness that balances perfectly with our spicy sauces.

We’re excited to launch Big Tings Burgers in South East London in late 2025, offering a menu that’s vibrant, fresh, and unlike anything else in the area. For us, it’s not just about great food—it’s about bringing people together, creating a sense of community, and celebrating the rich culinary traditions that have shaped our journey.
